Interviews with troops deployed overseas on Anzac Day
13 April 2010
Media are invited to submit expressions of interest for an Anzac Day interview with New Zealand troops deployed overseas.
There will be more than 900 New Zealand Defence Force personnel deployed on operations, UN missions or exercises overseas on Anzac Day, and while it will be a normal work day for most, the Kiwis will mark the occasion with dawn ceremonies.
To ensure coordination of all interview requests, media must contact Nicole Munro at the Defence Communications Group during business hours on 021 569 148, before 4pm on Monday 19 April 2010.
The following information will be required:
1. Your preferred mission. Information on the mission locations can be found at www.nzdf.mil.nz.
2. Preference for a pre-recorded or live phone interview.
3. Preferred date and time of interview. Please consider time differences between New Zealand and the operation area. You can use the World Clock Meeting Planner on www.timeanddate.com to check the time differences.
Every effort will be made to facilitate all interview requests, but requests received after the April 19 deadline may not be able to be facilitated.
A short clip of handicam footage of the Anzac Day ceremony in Afghanistan may be available by approximately 4pm on 25 April.
