Woodbourne Personnel to Attend Anzac Services
21 April 2016
More than 300 Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) personnel from Base Woodbourne will attend over 20 Anzac services around the Marlborough, Tasman and West Coast region this for Anzac Day 2016.
They will attend services from all over the region including Motueka, Seddon and Ward. The Base supports most northern points of the South Island, from Kaikoura to the West Coast.
Woodbourne Base Wing Commander (WGCDR) Mike Salvador said that RNZAF Base Woodbourne has been a support to the local community for Anzac day for many years.
“This is our opportunity to meet and greet all those who have served with us in the past, especially those returned service men and women who live in the region,” said WGCDR Salvador.
WGCDR Salvador said that personnel from Woodbourne are keen to be involved in Anzac day commemorations as it is an opportunity to engage with the community.
“Anzac day is where we recognise the contributions of all New Zealand service men and women, past and present, and acknowledge those who have paid the ultimate price,” said WGCDR Salvador.
