INTO THE BLUE - Air Power conference
2007 - Friday 30th March to Sunday 1st April.
INTO THE BLUE is the first ever air power conference held in Christchurch, New Zealand. This will bring together international and New Zealand speakers for air power past, present and future issues. This is to mark the 70th Birthday for the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) and the 20th Anniversary of the Air Force Museum.
Speakers include Group Captain Neville Parton, Director of Defence Studies Royal Air Force (The RAF-RNZAF relationship), Dr Chris Clark the Royal Australian Air Force Historian (Dominion Air Forces on the eve of World War II), academics from Britain and the United States of America and renowned local historians such as Vincent Orange (Sir John Slessor) and Ian McGibbon (The RNZAF and the Vietnam War).
The program commences on the evening of Friday 30th March with a meet and greet supper. The conference proper commences on Saturday 31st with an opening address by Chief of Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Graham Lintott and a second full day of papers will be given on Sunday 1st April. The optional conference dinner will be held in the Air Force Museum’s main Aircraft Hall and during the course of the conference there will be plenty of opportunity to experience the aircraft and exhibits of this world class Museum.
