There are 2654 people in the RNZAF as at 01 June 2005. This is broken down as follows: 540 Officers, 1738 Airmen and Airwomen, 28 General Service Hands (GSH), 1 Active Reserve and 357 Civilian Staff.

The RNZAF has: 2 Boeing 757s, 5 C-130H Hercules, 6 P3-K Orions, 13 Bell UH-1H Iroquois, 5 Bell 47G Sioux, 12 CT-4E Airtrainers, and 5 Beech King Air B200s. Total of 48 aircraft.
