Interbase cricket

Interbase Cricket 2010 was hosted by Base Ohakea from 25–28 January, and included the inaugural Men’s Twenty20 competition. Despite the weather, artificial wickets allowed the first two-day play. Base Auckland dominated this year, taking the lion’s share of wins, trophies and awards.

FINALS DAY: AK (Win) v OH
The format for Finals Day changed from Twenty/20 to a 40-over match. OH elected to bat first and the top order commanded a good presence, managing to keep out some great tight bowling from AK, scoring an opening partnership of 55 runs that contributed to OH’s total of 150/6.

In reply, AK made short work of the run chase achieving an opening partnership of 119. OH took the next 3 wickets in close succession, but it was too late and AK deservedly reached 154/5 in the 25th over, to claim the championship win.
