The weather cleared just in time on 29 June 2007 as proud wives, husbands, parents, families and friends eagerly awaited the arrival of the 07/1 Initial Officer Training Course (IOTC) Graduation Parade.
For the previous 22 weeks (14 weeks for the wise CFRs) the graduates had battled a multitude of essays, presentations, leadership exercises, and the Navy Officer Cadets to complete the course.
There were some highlights included along the way - the RNZAF’s domination at this year’s annual JOIST tournament and the delights of camping at deluxe locations such as Dip. Flat and the Waihopai Valley.
It had been the largest course that Command Training Flight had run for some time, with 29 people graduating representing a wide variety of trades:
- 4 x Supply Officers;
- 3 x Education Officers;
- 1 x Secretarial Officer;
- 1 x Psychologist;
- 1 x Works Officer;
- 7 x Engineering Officers;
- 1 x Air Electronics Officer;
- 1 x Navigator U/T;
- 10 x Pilot U/T.
The Graduation Day Parade was reviewed by the CAF, and well lead by handsome Flight Commanders and Parade Commander.
The three awards presented on the day were:
The No. 2 Officers Mess Trophy & Chief of Air Force Coin
Presented to the graduate of the Officer Training Course who attains the highest overall assessment in the areas of academics, leadership skills and personal qualities. Presented to:
