A recent insertion and retrieval activity by the 4th Otago Southland Battalion Group and RNZAF No. 3 Squadron, presented cadets from the four Dunedin Units – TS Waireka, TS Nimrod, No. 42 (City of Dunedin) Squadron Air Training Corps, and City of Dunedin Cadet Unit – with the opportunity of a familiarisation tour and flight in an RNZAF Iroquois helicopter. Did these young people enjoy the flight? Their broad smiles said it all – the thrill of travelling on a Huey with its doors open makes for exciting travel. . I still remember my first flight in an Iroquois out of Wigram many years ago, and I am sure these cadets will boast of their trip for a long time as well. RNZAF Recruiting may well have a new group of people interested in Air Force careers in the not-too-distant future.

A big thank you must go to No. 3 Squadron and the aircrew, ground crew and others who made this a wonderful opportunity for the cadets.
