// CADETS CLIMB INTO THE CLOUDS

19 August 2005

Five Air Training Corps cadets from 9 Squadron in Wanganui will be rewarded for their hard work with a flight with the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

The cadets, who have been studying aerodynamics and navigations techniques, will be taken flying in a C-T4 Airtrainer.

The two-seater aircraft used by the Air Force’s aerobatics team the Red Checkers; will be piloted by former 9 Squadron cadet, Flight Lieutenant Scott Williams.

It’s a great way to reward the cadets who have done well with their study and who are showing a real interest in the RNZAF, says Flight Lieutenant Williams.

"I’ll take them up one at a time for about 20 minutes, show them the local area and do some aerobatics - for those who can stomach it!" He said.

Flight Lieutenant Williams is a qualified flying instructor currently based at the Flight Training Wing at RNZAF Base Ohakea.
