RNZAF Career of choice

WN-10-0002-030

Kane Colvin has known for a long time he wanted to become a pilot and after attending
a recent Air Training Corps Air Force Experience, he is positive about his career choice.

After submitting an application form, in which he was required to submit an essay outlining what an Air Force career would mean to him, Kane, a Leading Air Cadet and four other cadets were selected from 60 candidates nationwide.

The experience involved viewing Royal New Zealand Air Force bases, Woodbourne and Ohakea. Kane said visiting the Air Bases confirmed his plans to have a career as a pilot. He said flying planes, travelling and the lifestyle of the Air Force, appealed to him.

"We viewed all the trades in the Air Force and what they do including air security and armoury, but it really affirmed what I wanted to do when I left school and that was to be a pilot,'' Kane said.
