Uniformed Variety
The Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force is set to wow the Manawatu when they take to the stage of the Regent on Broadway on Sunday 18 October at 2.30pm
The charity concert, in association with the Lions Club of Palmerston North Middle Districts, is entitled Uniformed Variety and will feature a range of music from classical to jazz, marches to pop. It promises to be an exciting concert for the whole family.
The Air Force’s Director of Music, Squadron Leader Owen Clarke, says the band is looking forward to performing in Palmerston North.
“The band regularly performs in a ceremonial capacity, so it is always fun for us to present a concert style programme, which we hope will be enjoyed by the people of the Manawatu.”
Proceeds from the concert will go to Ronald McDonald House in Wellington which provides a 'home-away-from-home' for families of children receiving medical treatment. They are looking to build a larger house so they can open their doors to a growing number of families requiring their support.
“Ronald McDonald House in Wellington is often used by families from the Manawatu so it is a privilege for the Central Band to be involved in supporting such a great cause,” said Squadron Leader Clarke.
