Anzac Day on 25 April is the day of remembrance for the fallen of all wars, but specifically it commemorates the day Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs) landed at Gallipoli in 1915.
This year Chief of Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Graham Lintott will be the NZDF representative at the commemorative service at Gallipoli. Music will be provided by the New Zealand Army Band and members of the NZDF currently based in the Sinai will provide the catafalque party. Anzac Day services will also be held where NZDF personnel are on missions overseas including Afghanistan, Timor Leste, Korea, Sudan, and the Solomon Islands.
Here in New Zealand Defence Force representatives will attend the many dawn and civic ceremonies held at war memorials and town halls around the country. To find out more about Anzac Day services contact your local council or the local branch of the RSA or visit http://www.rsa.org.nz/ .
